A note to students heading back to school

Another school year lies ahead and I know you’re nervous. I know you’re anxious. Why can’t the summer last all year? Why do we have to go to school in the first place?! We wish we could keep you home all year and have the summer season last forever too!

Let’s look at this new year as the start of something good, not something to dread. Another year of growth and experience. Another year of fun times with friends and exciting adventures to enjoy.

Take the sunny days of this past summer with you as you head into fall. Hold onto those unforgettable memories made when the winter cold comes.

Find something you can look forward to when things are tough. Christmas will be just around the corner now!

Know that we are cheering you on, even when you are at school and we’re here at home. Know that we think of and pray for you all the time, wondering how your day is going.

Be patient and kind as we head into a new year. With your friends, with your teachers, with yourself.

There will be hard days, as always, but you can do it. We believe in you. You’re smart, talented, and funny, and amaze us every day with your capabilities.

Now let’s get this new grade underway and conquer it!
