Don’t Stop Hunting

Every Easter, my kids can hardly wait for the Easter egg hunt.

Both Grandmas do an egg hunt at their house, and we have our own too.  I’ll always remember those first Easter eggs found at our house many years ago – each holding a single plain Cheerio inside!

Last year I decided not to do our own egg hunt at our house, thinking two were more than enough.  Not to mention that we’ve probably outgrown it. Boy, was I wrong!  You’d think I had cancelled Easter completely with all of the disappointment!  I thought you could only enjoy so many egg hunts.  Apparently, I misread that one!

It got me thinking that It’s exciting to search for something hidden, no matter how hold you are.  When you’re on the hunt for those plastic eggs, you know that if you’re patient and look carefully enough you’ll eventually find the treats you’re looking for.

Our family is in a very busy season right now, and I know I can’t give everything my full attention.  Despite the busyness, I still want to be aware of what God is doing in my life.  I want to continue to seek Him, even when life is chaotic, knowing I will find He has been right with me the whole time. Continuing to acknowledge the answers to prayer and the subtle ways He shows up in my life gives me the energy to keep going.

If you are witness to a child’s joy and excitement on an Easter egg hunt this Easter, let it serve as a reminder to you to keep up your OWN search.  If you will take the time to hunt for the ways God is moving in your life, you’ll see there is so much to find!
